LEGO Pokémon $650 set rumoured to be 72153 Bulbasaur, Squirtle & Charmander

LEGO Pokémon is rumoured to be kicking off in 2026 with a $650 build of the first-generation starters in 72153 Bulbasaur, Squirtle & Charmander.

BrickTap reports that one of four currently-rumoured LEGO Pokémon sets arriving in 2026 will be 72153 Bulbasaur, Squirtle & Charmander, taking the slot of the highest-priced model so far. It’s said to come in at a staggering $649.99 in the US, with 6,838 pieces in the box. That’s all we have to go on at this point, and even those details should of course be taken with a grain of salt until officially confirmed by the LEGO Group.

From the set name alone, though, we can reasonably predict that this would be a set of three buildable characters, and with the piece count in mind they would surely be on a grander scale than almost any others we’ve seen before across all other themes. We’re only speculating there, but it’s tough to imagine any other creative direction such a set might take based on current rumoured details.

Bulbasaur, Squirtle and Charmander are probably still the most iconic starter Pokémon for most people – or at least those with the means to drop $650 on one LEGO set – so they would make sense as an initial roster. The initial LEGO Pokémon announcement has already teased Pikachu in some form, too.

According to BrickTap sources and Max Baut, there will be a total of 20 new LEGO Pokémon sets in 2026, along with an additional eight models that could be either BrickHeadz or promotional sets. They'll reportedly be split across three waves: one in late February, then two more next summer.
