With the 2026 World Cup kicking off tonight, the world’s largest LEGO stadium has been given a football-themed refresh to mark the tournament’s arrival.
At LEGOLAND California, the iconic LOFI Stadium has been redesigned to depict a match between the USA and Paraguay.
The real stadium will host this opening fixture on June 13 at 2am BST, while also staging eight matches across the group stage and into the quarter-finals.
Built in March 2022, the LEGO Group’s LA stadium model uses 500,000 bricks and took 25 master builders around 6,000 hours to complete. Measuring over 9 metres long and 4.5 metres wide, it remains one of the most ambitious builds in the park.
Originally designed to showcase an American football game as the home of the LA Rams, the stadium has now been updated for the global football spotlight.
To transform the scene into a ‘soccer’ match, the park has added approximately 15,000 extra pieces, reshaping the build for the tournament.
Located within Miniland U.S.A at the LEGOLAND Resort just north of San Diego, the display is part of a wider FIFA World Cup 2026 experience running throughout the tournament until July 19. Visitors will have the opportunity to see the newly adapted stadium in person throughout the event.
The LEGO Group have released their own dedicated sets to the 2026 tournament, including 43020 FIFA World Cup Official Trophy and 43019 Football. Both sets, and many others, are avaliable now from LEGO.com.
