Presented as a four-studs-deep recreation of the two-dimensional video game’s Green Hill Zone, the long-awaited 1,125-piece set includes five characters – Sonic, Dr. Eggman, Crabmeat, Moto Bug and the Phantom Ruby (which is listed as a minifigure in the press release) – and 10 boxes of golden rings for the spiky blue guy to collect.

21331 Sonic the Hedgehog Green Hill Zone is the 39th LEGO Ideas set, based on a concept by fan designer Viv Grannell. It first qualified for review by the Ideas team in May 2020, but was still under consideration come September that year, when the results of the first 2020 review were revealed.
The LEGO Ideas review board finally gave it the go-ahead in February 2021, and has since spent the past 10 months working closely with SEGA to come up with 21331 Sonic the Hedgehog Green Hill Zone. Check back for our detailed review soon.
